after updating to 18.04 keyboard and mouse froze

currently using 17.10 as when I upgraded to 18.04 both the keyboard and the mouse froze.both worked ok when typing my password after update restart but froze immediately when desktop screen appeared

Yes hp probook with amd processor.4gb ram

If you reset the BIOS to defaults then setup again, does it help?
