scidavis package not in bionic repository

Asked by Raad Nashmi

Hi,
In my opinion scidavis is the best free and open source data visualization program out there. Scidavis was available in the Ubuntu repository for 16.04 and 17.10. However, it does not appear to be available in the Ubuntu 18.04LTS repository. This is odd because I did see scidavis the latest version 1.22-1 in Ubuntu launchpad (launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/scidavis/1:1.22-1).
Is there anything I can do to help make scidavis 1.22-1 available in Ubuntu 18.04 repository or is it too late?
Thanks,
Raad Nashmi

(From Debian) RoM; not ported to Qt5; Debian bug https://bugs.debian.org/894581

Apparently scidavis depends on obsolete versions of Qt.

Manfred,
Thank you for looking into the bug I reported and explaining why scidavis
was pulled from the repository.
