I want to install the same packages on another distribution

Asked by Jon Charge

Currently I'm running Jaunty Beta for debugging. I want to tell synaptic to install all the packages on another distribution. Is there a logfile or something I could import on the distribution I want to install the packages to in order to make this easy?

distribution A (packages installed)

distribution B (I want to instruct this package manager to install all packages that are on distro A)

Thanks,

Jon

I have actually found the way. You can save markings on the original apt, then read markings on the target apt.
