Libreoffice Base Crashing
Ubuntu 12.04 LTS
Libreoffice ver. 5.3.4
Libreoffice work correctly always and carry on doing so in Ubuntu 12.04 since I update.
Since an Software update Base start crashing, was adviced to install LO to version 5.3.4
but Base and Writer they crash suddenly on startup only Calc and Impress work.
I was advised to change the kernel to version 4.4.0-79 my kernel is now 4.4.0-81.
Should I change the kernel?
Libreoffice Base craching is not new and I suspect a bug with Ubuntu, I am writing
in LO Writer on my other Hard Disk Drive with Ubuntu 16.04 OS the kernel 4.10.0.27
all LO and other applications work correctly I thick this was the kernel on my main disk before the update.
I think the makers of Ubuntu should know about this why dont they make a fix.
Is there any one can help to fix this need LO working properly urgently.
Thank you

The version of libreoffice that you have is coming from a PPA - in your case I assume https:/
Please contact the provider of that PPA if you have problems with software from a PPA.
We can only help with the software provided in the standard Ubuntu repositories.
By the way, there was a new version of libreoffice provided in that PPA seven hours ago.
You might try upgrading, maybe that helps.

The version of LibreOffice provided in the standard Ubuntu repositories for Xenial (in -updates and -security) is 1:5.1.6~
If you have already uninstalled all parts of the version that you had from the PPA, then you should try installing that version.
It does not make any difference whether you install with command line ("sudo apt install..." or "sudo apt-get install...") or with help of the ubuntu-software application or using synaptic or any other package management program. All these programs access the same data - both for the inventory and the .deb packages.

You now can try using synaptic to identify the packages that lead to inconsistencies in the package management system, or you can use the command
sudo dpkg --audit
in a terminal window to show the problems.

What is the output of the command
apt-cache policy ure
It seems that you still have the version of ure from the PPA installed, and this now interferes with any other libreoffice installation,
I already wrote in comment #12 and comment #19 that you have to clean up all remainders of the PPA version. Why haven't you done this?
It is disappointing when recommendations are not followed, only to later find out that this is causing troubles.

I dint understand your previous recommendation I apologize for that.
I also don’t know much of Terminal commands.
Made two Terminal outputs one before I delete “ure” file and others in Synaptic.
In Synaptic found:
uno-libs3-dbg 5.4.0
ure 5.4.0
On Complete Removal other files are shown which are uninstall
Libreoffice-common

Libreoffice-
There is no reference of Libreoffice 5.4.0 in Synaptic
This is the first Terminal output:

Is this correct and what should be done now.
Again thank you for your great help.

Luis answer
After installing Libreoffice restart Ubuntu found LO Calc, Writer, Impress, Draw they all open
and work properly.
LO Base tried to open it failed with this error “Sorry, Ubuntu 16.04 has experienced an internal error”.
I kept the Terminal output from LO installation if is necessary.
This was the error that was advised to install LO version 1:5.3.4.

What happens if you start libreoffice and then click on
Create: Base database
Do you get the dialogue "create new / open exiting / connect to..." or does it crash?

I go through the dialogues to the point of saving the database type a name Click on <Save> this time went out of the screen and crashed, other times shows the “internal error” window.

If you receive this "Ubuntu has experienced an internal error" message pop-up, can you please look into the details of that box and tell us what there is written (not the complete output, just name of the program, error reason etc., but no details about hex addresses etc. - the information that seems to be most relevant to identify what is crashing and why).

Tried many times to provoke the message to come up with no results found that if an libreoffice
application with file is open, Base does not go out of the screen but a window opens with “Libreoffice Document Recovery” on the bottom there is the file name to be recovered Click on
<Start Recovery> then <Finish> and crashes out, Clicking on <Discard Recovery Data> LibeOffice page opens and LO Base Crashes and other LO application (Calc) also disappears
from the scream, crashes.
I think the internal error message it only shows after installing Libreoffice.
Should I uninstall and then install, and can I uninstall in Synaptic?
