Download the standard Ubuntu 8.10 32 bits iso image from here:
http://releases.ubuntu.com/releases/8.10/ubuntu-8.10-desktop-i386.iso
or better using a torrent file:
http://releases.ubuntu.com/releases/8.10/ubuntu-8.10-desktop-i386.iso.torrent

- Please check the md5sum of your downloaded Ubuntu .iso image file, here the https://help.ubuntu.com/community/HowToMD5SUM howto, and compare with http://releases.ubuntu.com/8.10/MD5SUMS

- Burn it on a cd rom, be sure to burn your cd at lower speed you can do usually 4x here an howto https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BurningIsoHowto

Hope this helps

It depends on whether you followed this type of intall

https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BootFromCD
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/WindowsDualBoot

or just went into Windows as normal and installed it from there. If you tried this second type of install then i can totally understand why you want to remove it but removing it isn't going to be so easy and we'll probably have to do it in a couple of steps. In this case try this initially

https://wiki.ubuntu.com/WubiGuide#Uninstallation

If you tried the first type of install and booted into the Cd then uninstalling is much much easier as it doesn't rely on the somewhat flaky Windows uninstall system. I'd be a little disappointed if you had tried this type of install so briefly and were already so determined to remove it. Usually it takes a little while to get used to something and you can't expect to be as skilled in Ubuntu overnight as you are with Windows after many years experience with it. In this case it would be better to tell us what your problems were with Ubuntu and we would either try to help you through the problems or at least be able to see what we need to develop in the future. I think it's much more likely that you tried installing Ubuntu inside Windows so i wont confuse the issue by giving alternatives. Windows users seldom like choice and diversity as it just confuses them.

Good luck and regards from
Tom :)

If you are still having trouble with this then please post it as a new question. Only the most recent questions tend to get looked at so posting/re-posting a question just before america arrives online after work/school gives the best chance of getting a good few answers - such is the nature of the internet.
https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+addquestion

If the problem has been resolved then please follow the link to the forum thread and mark it as Solved but please give us a clue how you did manage to solve it and also use the button under where you type stuff in rather than giving me karma credit points for just sending this note to you.

Apologies, good luck and many regards from
Tom :)
