dell mini 9 changing printer name

Asked by robin

I connected to our HP printer on our home network, all works fine at this time. During the setup the name "JetDirect" was assigned to the printer, not sure how....
My question is how can I change the name to reflect the real name of the printer that all in our household know it by? In the decsription of the printer I have HPL7650, just need to change the name to be the same.
cheers

Jet direct is the name of the type of connection that HP printers use.

To change the name go System -> Administration -> Printing then right click and click rename.

Good luck.

There is no rename option. I was used to this option with windows and tried this at several locations but to no avail..
When I go to system>administration>printing I try the right click but no such command? Next choice?

remove the printer.
Reinstall the printer. As you are doing so, it will allow you to give it a name
