Need to widen details window

Asked by Cardin Brooks

As I was updating Ubuntu and I recognize the window for the update details window was incredibly too small. Any advice to widen it?

If you make the window be not full screen, is it OK?

No, it doesn't . The link I posted revealed that. What more information do you require

Your image just shows it being maximized. There isn't one as a floating window, or did I miss something?

Look At the box under the "details" header. It is narrower than it is
suppose to be.

Yes, I see that but if you change the application window from maximized to a floating window (use the restore button in the top bar, near the one you'd close the application with) does it display OK?

I have already seen such effect myself, but by changing the size of the window it usually went back to normal.
So actionparsnip's question is: If you resize the window from full screen to smaller, what happens?

No, It doesn't. I've tried that. I think I need someone who knows more
about Ubuntu's code

Is the details window always so small, or is it maybe different with a new attempt?

Up to now you haven't told any details of your system: which Ubuntu release you are running, how do you start the program that shows that strange display, ...?

Please provide the output of the commands

uname -a
lsb_release -crid
apt-cache policy update-manager

It stays the same even when I do that. Also the output for that code you
gave me is

Cardin
I assume this problem is not solved. I have read above communication, over and over. Could you post picture, of what happens, if you drag your mouse pointer, slowly, across the line, your drawn arrow is touching? At :

https://www.dropbox.com/s/npuly1s7kpd1n6i/Screenshot%20from%202017-02-07%2007-03-11.png?dl=0

Does the mouse pointer change any? If it changes, left click-and-hold, and drag it down.
The reason I suggest this, is because it was not mentioned above.

As far as I can see, the first screen shot https://i.stack.imgur.com/0O7HD.png was from update manager
and the last one https://www.dropbox.com/s/3lk2xp83sgtabi2/Screenshot%20from%202017-03-25%2010-29-43.png?dl=0 is from a backup program (I assume dejadup)

This is why I believe that this is not caused by program errors, but some strange settings related to you user.

Can you create another user ID on your system and verify, whether it is the same when logged in as that other user?

I will try to use a guest account to do that.
