AR2413 802.11bg NIC (rev 01) not working in Ubuntu

I just installed ubuntu 8.10 and i can't make the wireless connection to work. i run some commands and these what i got:
i will appreciate some help to fix this issue.

Hi,

In order to be able to follow the procedure here

http://madberry.org/2008/11/how-to-get-atheros-ar242x-to-work-on-810-intrepid-ibex/

you will first need to connect your pc directly to your router using a LAN cable.
