Your hard drive might be full. Try deleting some stuff.

I understand that. I have a shared HD, I'm using a dual boot system. I guess I cannot get more space without destroying the Windows partition. I cannot even remove programs. I am getting an error message when I try to to remove programs.

you can delete some package archives entering

sudo apt-get clean

to know the fee space on your drives, you can use the command

df -h

hope that helps

This did answer my question. I gave more space and I am ok. I will report this fix.

However I have another problem. I down loaded the CUPS and Linux driver for my Brother 240C Printer - Scanner - Copier. But I cannot get it to work. I am attaching several screen shots. Please advise.
