Log on internetbank with BankId

Norwegian banks use BankId to log on the bank on internet. When I try this I get the message that my netbrowser don't support Java - this might be because the java-support is turned off in the netbrowser (how do I check that??), or that Java software is not installed on my computer. Because of this I have downloaded all the new Java software and I have tried both Firefox and Opera netbrowsers, but I still get the same message... What do I do next???

Hello!

1. Open Firefox

2. Go to - Edit - Preferences

3. In the Preferences windows click on the contents tab where you will see if Java is installed as a plugin in your firefox, and if it is it also shows that it is active or no. If it's not active then activate it.

4. If Java does not appear there, then go to Administration - Synaptic and search for "Java Firefox" or "Java plugin for firefox" and install.

If after all these is not working, write again, and we will see.

Hi!
When I go to "Content" I find that both
JavaSchript and Java is marked "Enable"...

Try to install that plugin what I have mentioned above. If you have it installed, reinstall it and restart Firefox!

Maby that is the problem, because when I search in synoptic i can not find
any names including both java and firefox. Now I have uninstalled the java
files and reinstalled them. So I will restart my computer and hope for the
best....

Something happend, because when I resently tryed to get into the bank it worked!

Than it seems the problem was the Java-plugin!

I suppose that I, after uninstalling all the java programs, chose some different or more files when I reinstalled it. And therefore I installed the one who was missing...

That is how it is with me and data (and other equipment), luckily it usually works like I want it to do, but sometimes it doesn't.
When I have a problem, I do something, and usually it starts working again, and I don't know what I have done.

Anyway, I am very pleased with ubuntu, and maby I will understand more when time goes by!
