root a samsung galaxy tab SM-T280

I want to my samsung galaxy tab SM-T280 using a laptop with ubuntu 16.6.

Ubuntu 16.6 doesn't exist. There is Ubuntu 16.04 which is the latest LTS and supported til April 2021. Is this what you have?

What is the output of:

lsb_release -a; uname -a
