Software 3.20.1 does not list an app (Nano) installed to my system
Hello Techies,
another problem with Software 3.20.1, which I begin not to trust in.
(Software 3.20.1 came with the OS, Xubuntu 16.04 LTS)
Moved by curiosity I was looking for Vim and Nano, as I wanted to modify a text file via CLI.
My question was:
is one of them or are both installed to my system?
The solution was:
I launched Software 3.20.1 and clicked 'Installed' button. Vim was listed, Nano was not.
In order to install it, I went back to 'All' and, despite being difficult typing a word in the dash box (Q295907), I made it and the result was: No Application Found.
Feeling like a detective I launched my friend Ubuntu Software Center 15.12 (a great app indeed!) and realised that both, Vim and Nano, are installed. Glad!
(I wonder how I can keep on trusting in Software 3.20.1 as its result is false, even if the search is not dealing with phased updates.)
Why does this happen?
I carry on keeping an eye on my system, as Manfred wisely suggested to me weeks ago...
Many thanks for your attention
