Have installed VLC player and downlaoded codexs as required but Film would not play; Tryed other things and in the end went for Ubuntu Restricted Extra - but still no joy at which time yesars goine bye I rembeber xine worked and so installed Still it will not work and standard Movie Player in Ubuntu 16.04 will not load and comes up as Film could not be read.

Look In truth I am finding Ubuntu 16.04 a right bugger and very slow at loading and am thinking of going back to 15.10

Forgive my stupidity I forgot there is a second part. I merely thought it was all in the restreicted Extra's.Anyway its now OK. Its a few years since I played around with Ubuntu and had forgotten in my history the sprecific DVD part
