landed at GRUB Rescue after installation

SO - my upgrade saga continues. From https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+question/287022 you can see that the standard upgrade did not work. So I reinstalled 14.04 and recovered my data via backup. I the followed the instructions in https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+question/288541 to migrate my data to its own drive. Then I used the 15.10 CD to install a clean installation of 15.10 with my home directory mounted - on the other dosc I created new partitions for the OS an the swpa area, told the system to boot off that drive, and here I am after the installation completed, I rebooted and landed on GRUB Recovery - it tells me that "no such device" (with UUID so and so) ...

What do I do?
