open vpn fails because of invalid secrets. up until a month ago it worked fine. why is this

I configured open vpn a little over a month ago and it worked fine for some days, now every time I try to connect to my vpn 'blueVPN' it fails because of invalid secrets. I have changed nothing so why would this be. this problem has persisted now for over a month during which time I have browsed askUbuntu but unsuccessfully. I have configured a new VPN 'VPN connection 1' but this also either times out or fails because of invalid secrets. I really like Ubuntu but every time I install it takes me many hours over many weeks to iron out the plethora of issues. I am no computer code expert so please be clear and gentle with me. Thanks in advance

If you can't copy and paste from a forum you will struggle with computers in general. When someone gives a command as I did, just copy it as one line (unless separated by empty lines) and run it.

By the way, using a VPN to some 3rd party doesn't give security and I bet they are logging your activities themselves. You are swapping one unknown network (the Internet) for another (Blue VPN)

Unless you are unable to access certain sites or services (like Netflix) then Blue VPN doesn't do much for you.

I have reset the password. There is still no VPN because of invalid secrets. I often access Netflix and BBC and other websites from abroad, and other geographically controlled websites from the UK which is why I want a VPN AND I have taken your advice and read the thread on lp as you suggested and it very clearly gives the output to #3. From my very first reply in fact. As I said before my problem is your immediate recourse to rudeness and bullying, not that you misread my original reply.

Please close this. I will stick Windows back on my computer. No great loss.
