slower than slow repo activity

Asked by rjasmin

Im getting dial up speeds from all ubuntu repos even though I am on a fibre connection with MEGAbit speeds available to me. I can stream TV just fine and speed test reports show the proper speed as ISP has guaranteed to me.I have over four devices attached at any one time to the net and I can fax just fine over VOIP. Browsing the net seems to be affected as well, but only recently when using ubuntu and derivatives. Using multiple connections via apt-fast has increased bandwidth somewhat but not noticeably. Dunno where else to post this issue.

Alright. AUTO MANAGEMENT needs to be shit canned. No wonder there are so many ubuntu issues.

SECONDLY, this is an ongoing issue. The repos are always slammed on occasion. With so many mirrors, this should never be.Its called scheduling and load-balancing people....

Which repository server are you using?

See https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+archivemirrors for a list of archive mirrors and their connection speed.
Theses vary between servers, from 128 Kbps up to 20 Gbps.
