Installing on a MacBook Pro

Asked by Hassan Alamdari

I'm trying to install Unbuntu on a Macbook Pro running Yosemite. I cannot install it. When trying to load it from the USB I get an Error: Not Found while loading legacy loader. Also if I can Ubuntu live to run I cannot see anything but the sidebar. I can click on install but the windows do not draw.

Did you MD5 test the ISO you downloaded?
If you used a CD, did you burn the CD as slowly as possible?
If you used a USB or SD card, how did you put the data onto the storage?
Did you extract the ISO? (many users do this and it is not how you manipulate the file)

Then how did you know that the data you are using was complete and consistent.

The OS will not install if the data was corrupted in transmission from the server to your system.
