Use gparted in Ubuntu. You may need to reinstall Grub to the MBR otherwise the system will not boot. if you want to extend the existing partition into the freed space then you will need the Ubuntu liveCD desktop (or similar) so that the partition is not on use.

As with any large system change, be sure your backups are sufficient before starting out.

Thanks Actionparsnip, I will look that up.Mint is starting up in fallback
mode and I have no tool bar, I checked the forum and I see some suggestions
but they all require a terminal and I cant access one, Alt+Ctrl+T does not
worck.I'm also running Ubuntu 15.04 on this comp. And I thought I would have
to eliminate Mint, but I much prefer keeping it.All this started after an
update yesterday.I'm using a Pavilion 15 and amd64.(HP).Do you see anyway
that I can restore Mint? Thanks

Mint is not supported by the Ubuntu community. It has its own Forums and support. I suggest you post here:
http://forums.linuxmint.com/

Can you help with this problem?
