Problema con el arranque de ubuntu

Instalé Ubuntu 7.10 y dejé 2 particiones pequeñas (5GB) para instalar fedora y opensuse.

La tabla de particiones es:

hda1: ubuntu
hda3: fedora8
hda4: openSuse
hda2: es una extendida
hda5: es la partición swap.

Despuès de haber instalado todas las distros en cuestión y al momento de arrancar Ubuntu me sale el siguiente mensaje:

*File system check failed
A log is being saved in var/log/ checkfs if that location is writable
Please repair the file system manually
*A maintenance shell will now be started
CONTROL-D will terminate this shell and resume system boot
bash: no job control in this shell
bash: groups: command not found
bash: lesspipe: command not found
bash: Command: command not found
bash: The: command not found
bash: dircolors: command not found
bash: Command: command not found
bash: The: command not found
root@juank-ubuntu:~#

En la última línea escribo exit y el sistema continua su carga normalmente.

Agradezco me expliquen qué pasó y cómo se soluciona.

Hi juank,

This is a error in your file system. Please type only 'fsck' in maintenance shell and wait for report! When finish type 'Control+D'.

Gracias, ya resolví el problema. Todo se debía a una mala distribución de
las particiones-
