Install ubuntu mate on win 7 with wubi

I am duel booting with ubuntu gnome 15.04 and win 7.I want to try ubunto 1504 mate by installing it on win 7 with wubi. Will that mess up my grub.

Wubi has not been developed for THREE years. It is dead.

If you want to try the Mate desktop then install it. What you are proposing is like installing a new Windows install just to have a different desktop wallpaper.

Just install the Mate packages and you can select it at the login page. You don't need a new install of Ubuntu. You can install all the desktop environments you can find, then select the active one at login time.

when i get a new cd drive I will do that. In the mean time I want to
play with it and dont want to mess up grub.

Wubi is on the mate iso.

It can be on any ISO you like. It's dead.

Installing mate in the standing OS has nothing to do with Grub
