When you unplug the iPad, do you use the safe removal feature in your operating system (Windows or Mac) before you pull out the USB cable?

Hi,

Not sure exactly what you're asking. I didn't know that I had to have a safe removal feature. The iPad is Apple. When I plug in the power, I just plug it in and unplug it like any power cord. This also doubles as a USB cable which I plug in but Linux will not accept an Apple device so I just unplug it like any other USB cable. I don't have Windows or Mac. iPads system currently is iOS 8.0.2 which I could update to iOS 8.1 if I had a Internet Connection.

I have checked both the router and my server account and they both show the iPad as being connected Wireless. But, the iPad shows that it isn't completely connected. It does have a IP Address and a Subnet Mask, but the Router, DNS, Domain is absent.

I also made my Cell Phone a WiFi Hotspot and tried to connect with it, but I cannot.. So I have concluded that something in the iPad is stopping it from completely connecting. My Cell Phone has the Android System on it. Just been recently that I cannot get the iPad to connect to my WiFi connections. Plan to take it to a computer store today and see if they can find and fix the problem. I don't think now that it has anything to do with this system or even my new router beings it will not connect with AT&T either. I got Apples web site up and tried to Chat with them. But, the iPads 1 year warranty has expired and to chat I would need to pay them $19 for temporary service. So thats out. So I guess unless there are any other suggestions, this is solved due to the fact it has nothing to do with my Linux System.

Morning,

No I don't use Windows or any Microsoft, unless the iPads system is made by Microsoft.

Hi everyone,

I took my iPad into town today to the Verizon store. Told a young man there about the trouble. He touched a couple links and put in their Internet Password and just like that the iPad was online. So when we got home it linked to my Internet Router with no problem. I have not a clue to what the problem was. But, it is fixed now and the iPad is even upgraded to the newest system. So problem is differently solved. Thank you very much for trying to help.
