Hardy Heron hardware compatibility issue

Asked by Janis Blums

8.04 is great. I will switch to it (both personally and in my business) as soon as all the problems are ironed out. Currently I have problems with the the following on my Acer 5315 laptop:

1. Wireless network does not work. And I cannot even see the wireless network option.
2. Internal microphone does not work.
3. The central button in my touch pad dones not work.
4. Screen resolution goes up to 1280x800.

I hope that these issues can be solved

I had a similar issue with HH on my Acer. I did a fresh install of HH and for the most part everything worked fine. I then did my updates and I lost my wireless card, my sound card and the full use of my center button on the touchpad. I quickly rebooted to the previous kernel before the updated on and everything worked fine. So im going to hold off updating until the bugs are worked out of the latest kernel.

Can you help with this problem?
