So immediately I'm reading invalid file name for the sources list and this is seemingly affecting all other functionality of any attempts I make to download programs or update packages. Thank you!!!

Saucy is EOL next month at some point and will not be supported in any way. You may want to do a clean install of Trusty. Trusty is LTS and supported til April 2019. It may resolve your issue.

I'm aware of the upgrade and to trusty tahr 14.04 and I will be much more
