Top Menu in 13.10

Asked by clombard

Just upgraded from 12.10 to 13.10 (yes I waited ).
I GIVE UP..where is the top menu (you know with drop-downs like computer, etc),
how can I get it without too many difficult steps and how to remove icons up there
that I do not want (like EN,Mail, Ubuntu one)...?.
Thank you.

No...I don't use Ubuntu One...but now it does NOT appear
(guess it picked up my vib).
Why oh Why can't that top menu, appMenu, Global Menu...
or whatever else it is called just have a "right-click"
function to add or remove whatever one wants...?
Simple but very difficult I assume.

Then uninstall Ubuntu One and it will go. It is non-essential.

If you want to get rid of the envelope icon, uninstall the 'messages-indicator' package
