Adobe flash player issue

Asked by Tommaso Angelini

Hi there, I got an issue with Adobe flash player.
In fact, when I connect to a certain website asking for access to the webcam and microphone, I get the usual window in which I can choose between "Allow" and "Do not Allow".
However, when I click on one of the two, nothing happends and I am unable to browse the other tabs of that window.
I tried with other browsers on the same pc and got the same issue.
I tried other sites and wouldn't work too. From other Windows pcs it works without any issue.

How do I solve that?

Thanks for you attention

Hi Tommaso. Maybe try to disable Camera & Mic window via http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/settings_manager07.html website? It is not an image. It is the actual Settings Manager for flash-player. One more thing: click 'never ask again' (or 'always refuse') option and confirm choice.

Best regards.

No, that doesn't work! I just tried but there's no way to make it always enabled.
Can you provide a solution for the problem I reported?

Hi Tommaso. What is the version of a Flash plugin? Maybe try to add website as trusted and choose 'always allow' option? You should find these settings in 'Website Provace Settings' tab in Flash Setting Manager. I mean that one, which can be set via Firefox etc.

By the way, please check this web site: http://lab.marand.com/2010/04/making-webcam-work-in-flash-on-ubuntu/

Best regards.

One more thing. Xubuntu contains very interesting application called 'pavucontrol', which is a simple GTK+ based volume control tool (mixer) for the PulseAudio sound server. You can install it (via e.g. APT utility) and try to make Flash use your webcam’s mic. So after installation, please enable 'pavucontrol': from menu or a terminal/console (pavucontrol command) and next in input devices make sure your webcam is not muted. Then in configuration set your webcams profile as “Analog Mono Input”.

Best regards.
