Install Acer to a Chrome Book

Asked by John Aranita

I have on layaway an Acer C710-2856 at Wal-Mart. It doesn't have an optical disc, but it has several USB ports. Could I install Ubuntu Linux via USB? The Acer is a Chrome Book (or Chromebook).

Thanx! : - )

You can create a USB install media as described in http://www.ubuntu.com/download/desktop/create-a-usb-stick-on-windows or http://www.ubuntu.com/download/desktop/create-a-usb-stick-on-ubuntu .

But be aware that Chrome Books are a bit locked down and the installation process is more complex as your can read in http://liliputing.com/2012/11/how-to-install-ubuntu-12-04-on-the-199-acer-c7-chromebook.html .

Please do not answer from your e-mail client. Use Launchpad instead. Too many useless info.
