Pulse Audio Xubuntu 12.04nLTS

Asked by L.Bányai

The Pulse Audio does not recognizes the external Microphone, although Audicity (through ALSA) recognizes it.
As a consequence, Skype (installed from the Software repository) does not recognizes it either.
What is the solution?

I have looked in the man page of gstreamer (GStreamer), but learned just
nothing. What else can I do?

maybe audicity is the problem.reinstall audicity and if possible pulse audio.i often have problemes in 13.10 pulse audio shortcuts-which is an extention of gnome but it is always fixed. i open multimedia systems , equalizers etc and correct the problem.reinstall alsa.try everything

Audacity is definitely not the problem, which existed already before I
installed Audicity. Audacity recognizes the microphone and works (through
ALSA) with it. PulseAudio (used by Skype), however sees no installed
microphone at all.

In the meantime I got the last update for Xubuntu 12.04 LTS, that corected Pulse Audio. Now it is OK. There was a bug in the original version.
