Hello,
please check your device for an option about USB connection. Lot of people have same problems with similar devices and it's due to false options on how the device recognize the USB connection on a PC.

Also a dmesg results would help.

After you conect the device open a terminal (CTRL+ALT+T) and run

 dmesg | tail -n 30

Give the full results back here.

Obviously you have a problem with this device. See the loop messages about [sdb] . I assume that [sdb] is the Samsung Tab as it present its self to Linux Kernel.

Read the answers [1] and also read this link [2] . They would help you to understand what is going on.

I would suggest to check your device (as I mentioned in answer #1) and see if another option about USB connection exist.

Therefor must be a problem with the desktop machine.

Have you tried other USB ports ?

Be sure that are ON the motherboard(usually back usb ports are) and not Hubs.
