Terminal Issues? Can't updaye right and I don't know why.
Ok, so I'm new to Ubuntu and have been asking a LOT of questions recently. You all have been so helpful to me. I run Ubuntu 12.10 on an X51 from Alienware and I've having update issues. I'll type "sudo apt-get update" and get this at the end:

E: Some index files failed to download. They have been ignored, or old ones used instead.
E: Could not get lock /var/lib/dpkg/lock - open (11: Resource temporarily unavailable)
E: Unable to lock the administration directory (/var/lib/dpkg/), is another process using it?
What's happening here and what can I do to fix it? Please be detailed. I'm new so I know next to NOTHING about this. It started when I tried to install Gnome3 but that got interupted with a shut down so I don't think it installed right. Then the removal process has been interupted by a shut down (Both shutdowns were user enacted) Since then, updates haven't worked right.
