Ubunto 12.04 Cannot boot after Ubuntu Tweal cleaned "Uneeded Packages"

Asked by Nolan

Everything was fine until I used Ubuntu Tweaks Janitor to clean "Uneeded Packages" apparently it cleaned a needed package.
This has occured many times. I'm sure this the cause of the problem.

Please advise.

Ubuntu Tweak is a 3rd party package made by sone guys. Its not endorsed by Canonical and so the tool is unregulated. I suggest you contact the developers. There are plenty of cleanup applications in the official reposirories so why use something else.....

Is there a way to save my configuration or am going to have to reinstall?

What effects and messages do you see when you try booting? How far does the boot process advance? Are there any error messages? Do you see a logon screen? Can you log in? Please proviode more details.

I will reinstall. I was hoping to save my configuration. I guess that's not possible.

If you make backups you dont have this issue. a small USB harddrive is cheap and a great way to ensure data integrity........
