Installed unbuntu 12.4 LTS to dual boot with windows xp. I can only boot into ubuntu because the arrow keys don't work in the grub installer window. Frozen on ubuntu

Asked by James Tyler

I recently istalled ubuntu 12.4 LTS to dual boot with windows xp on my PC. At the grub installer window I can not use the arrow keys to chose windows xp. I can only boot ubuntu 12.4 and it seems to work OK. I can no longer access windows xp because the arrow keys do not respond in this window. I would like to be able to get into windows xp.

Hi,
please boot INTO BIOS configuration page and enable (make active) the "USB Legacy" support.

Then retry.

Thank you.

I got into bios setup and under cmos setup I found a field labeled keyboard
support and it was disabled. Since I am really a novice/rookie is this the
field I wan to enable as it was listed as disabled. I will say that the
arrow keys work fine here. I saw no term labled usb legacy support and I
may not have accessed the right place. Please advise furhter if you will.
Thank you James
