ubuntu 12.04 crashes and gets stuck very often

Asked by yeshe khandro

my ubuntu 12.04 on an LG P1 express dual, often gets stuck suddenly and shuts off - crashes.
when it gets stuck, the only way to restart it is to shut it off in the power key (without a proper shuting off procedure).
and when it shuts off by itself (as well without a proper shutting off procedure- just like it gets shut off with the power key)
it does it suddenly- there's no power issue involved.

i have downloaded smartmontools, as it was suggested in one of the QnA...

what should i do?
thank you!
