computer wont shut down just goes into restart

What is the make and model of the system?#
What is the output of:

lsb_release -a; uname -a

Is the OS fully updated?
If you run:

sudo shutdown -h now

Does it turn off?

I have tried again 'sudo shutdown -h now' from the terminal and the system will shutdown!
