Need information on current Plugger for 12.04 LTS

Asked by Margaret Mackintosh

Hi,

I did a Patent Search and to see a Full Image of the item I searched for it tells me that I need is "Plugger 5.1.3". I can buy it, but is this available though Ubuntu or one similar so I will be able to see a Full Image of the item?

What item are you referring to?

Hi,

I did a Patent Search and in order to view a Full Image of the item it said I needed a plugin called "Plugger 5.1.3". I clicked on this and I can buy it. I thought that maybe there would be a version of this or something similar that I could install so I could view the item on 'Patent Search'. Search number that I looked up is '590612', if you want to do the search and see what I came up with when I clicked on 'Image'. This is the patent number search on the government web site.

I did check on the Synaptic Package Manager for this, but it is not listed as far as I can tell or one similar. So the question is, "Is there something that I can install on Ubuntu 12.04 LTS that will do the same thing"? To view Full Scale images on that web site.

Hi,

No, it wasn't installed but it is now. Not sure what you mean by "compile the source". What "source"? I will see what I can do now and let you know.

Hi again,

Just tried again to get the image but still says I need a Plugin. Clicked on Get Plugin and that came up with no Plugin's found. So I guess that wasn't it.

Hi,

I see that it shows a image, but is that a plugin that will make it so I can view images on a web site that requires a Plugin? So I am not sure if this is it or not. If it is, how do I install it?

I just found out that Firefox removed my out of date Java. Ask me to update. Which version of Java do I use with Ubuntu 12.04 LTS? Maybe this has something to do with me not being able to view the image.

Hi everyone, This has turned out irrelavent as I went to remove the tiff file I had downloaded earlier and instead of removing just the one file, it removed everything - Mozilla Firefox, Thunderbird and all the rest. Contacted my son who is computer literate and he said that happened to him once. That probably just one thing got broke but since we had no idea what said he just reinstalled Ubuntu. So that is what I did. Reinstalled Ubuntu 12.04 LTS from a DVD that I have. So this question has be solved by a reinstall.

So I take it, that Java doesn't necessarily need to be installed?

Hi,

I clicked on the below link and got a web site, but not sure what I should do there. Looks like Greek to me.
