search panel in software center has gone missing after sqlite update.

can anybody fix this bug???? Please!!!!I have tried logging in under ubuntu, gnome, and gnome classic. Also tried starting the software with terminal. But still the search panel remains missing. also tried reinstalling ubuntu software center through synaptic manager. I am using ubuntu12.04, i38632bit intel.

Have you tried:

sudo apt-get --reinstall install software-center

may help

The purge command I performed was : sudo apt-get purge software-center. Then performed :
sudo apt-get --reinstall install software-center as advised, and all is well again with my software center. It is behaving well now.:-o).
