Hi !

I guess you should use the lexmark z600 drivers, as advised here

http://openprinting.org/show_printer.cgi?recnum=Dell-Photo_Printer_720

thanks for providing driver locale, my problem is that I do not know how to install the driver once it has downloaded, on trying to extract it to system I just get the folder with three icons, previous downloads have installed directly , I can get the driver but do not know how to install it and in which location etc, If this sounds daft its because I am not used to tabbed or button type install, is there an idiot guide or walkthrough to enable me to load this driver easily (for me that is ) , my apology,s for being dense, regards Peter.

Hi Peter.

Those drivers are included in ubuntu.
Go through the printer install process, you should be able to specify the driver used : choose z600

Hope that helps

Hi Oliver, thanks for the answer but I have tried to find Z600 in the
driver listings in printer setup to no avail, the error message reads
Cups error format not supported, the nearest I can get to communicating
with the printer is using Gutenprint generic driver, I have looked in
both Lexmark and Dell on the printer lists in setup for this driver .
When sampling drivers the only one that produces any reaction from the
printer is Gutenprint 5.0 simplified, but printer only trys to load
paper and then stops without printing. I know that I,m missing something
here but am still at a loss. The printer is detected in the find
printers list during setup and recommends Generic text only driver but
this does not work at all , regards Peter

Hi !

Install those two package http://biginoz.free.fr/linux/edgy/z600cups_1.0-2_i386.deb
http://biginoz.free.fr/linux/edgy/z600llpddk_2.0-2_i386.deb

That should give you the lexmark z615 as a choice in the printers list
