7.10 Install Issues

Asked by Dave Frandin

On a Dell GX620/P4D-2.8GHZ/3GB/Nvidia GF7100-256MB which installed and ran 7.04 flawlessly, several attempts at a clean
installation of 7.10 desktop exhibit the following issues:
1. When booting from newly created CD, the USB keyboard installed is not detected by the installer. A reboot with a PS2 keyboard works fine.
2, After install of 7.10 Desktop using PS2 keyboard, the initial boot into the newly installed os kicks the installed Sony
CPD-G200 monitor into an "out of range" condition.

These issues did not occur on this system under 7.04 desktop.. I tried posting this info on the user-to-user forum last week
and got absolutely no response...

The output of dmesg would be helpful as well as the contents of /var/log/Xorg.0.log.

Please try to press CTRL+ALT+"+" and CTRL+ALT+"-" keyboard keys to dynamically try to change screen resolution or try to boot using "Start Ubuntu in safe graphic mode" first menu install option
