Hi !

this driver is included in the latest ubuntu release. (Ubuntu 7.10)

If you don't want to install it, you will need to compile the drive yourself...

you can find the source code here :

http://launchpadlibrarian.net/7382416/L2-linux-driver_new.rar

tell me if you need any more help for compiling this driver

Ok. The big problem is that, for compiling the module, you will need to install stuff... which will be hard if you have no internet connection !

Have you heard of Ship it ? Canonical can send you free of charge a CD of the latest ubuntu ! this should take around one month

Or try to download the CD from an internet cafe or something.

And if your internet is not that slow (I mean, if you can hope to download the CD in 2 or 3 days), I think the wait is definitely worth it.

Examine those solutions. If none pleases you, tell me.... and I'll tell you how to compile the driver.

By the way, can you have an internet connection from within ubuntu (wireless or other) ?

Be sure that my reticense to help you compile the driver is only because I wish you could avoid it. I mean, compiling stuff as your first approach of linux is not that user-friendly :-)
