installed Evolution in 10.04,/home folder no longer accessable from places.

Asked by raymond a. corliss

Recently installed Evolution on laptop running 10.04, afterwards I can no longer access the home folder from Places on the tool bar. Going into Files system the folder is there and accessible but I would like to reconnect it to Places for easy access.

Try go to the home-foder's parent directory and drag'n'drop it to the places-menu at the very left of the nautilus file browser.

Phil proposed the following answer:
Try go to the home-foder's parent directory and drag'n'drop it to the
places-menu at the very left of the nautilus file browser.

I don't seem to be able to get to the parent directory;the only I have found to get to the home folder is to go to Place/computer/file system. the only thing that happens going to Place is an error message--Could not open location 'file:///home/ray'and no application is registered as handling this file.

Sound like you simply need to re-associate folders with nautilus.

Simple :)

Ok- Thanks, however I have never done this before and have so far not found how to associate the home folder with Nautilus. Is this done in GUI or the Terminal ?
