Can't browse internet after update in 7.04

Asked by Alf

I can't browse internet after update in 7.04, I can ping through ip-adresses but not browse through a browser.
The problem is the same on both cable and wireless. The problem is also the same in all browsers.

I have Win xp on the same machine and internet works fine in xp.
This seems to be some sort of dns problem but I can't figure out what's wrong! Maybe it's a firewall/security issue??
Anybody that can help me out here??

There is something related to the dns... try to put a value of a valid dns into setting of connection.
If you want you can try for example http://www.opendns.com/
The ubuntu howto https://www.opendns.com/start?device=ubuntu
or try to set up your provider dns suggested values.

I checked a little bit more...it was a setting in the router that affected only my Linux machines...not windows :-)
Removed those settings and now everything works :-)
