Dell Inspiron 1525 Wi Fi, Ubuntu 10.10 running in Virtualbox on Win

Hi, i have a Dell Inspiron 1525. its a 2.0 ghz of processor and 4 gigs of ram. im running windows vista 23 bit.
and the program that im using is virtual box. in virtual box im currently running Ubuntu 10.10 the wired internet connection works but i just can't seem to run the wi fi.

basically please can someone help me with my wi fi? it works on my windows vista.

Wi fi would work when you have installed Ubuntu 10.10 in your hard disk and not in virtual box as virtual box wont support the wi fi port or the adapter..

so if i use virtual box for ubuntu my wifi wont work? what about vmware
workstation 7?

You should set the virtualboxes adapter to be bridged in the settings, it will then pick up an IP from your router as if it were an extra physical PC. The network physical media is moot as the network devices are software
