can't load the ubuntu-netbook install cd

I,VE GOT A TOSHIBA S15-S157 LAPTOP 40GB HDD 1GB RAM. I,VE DOWNLOADED AND COPYED A ISO DISK 4 DIFFERNT TIMES, AND WHEN I TRY TO INSTALL IT IT LOADS THEN GO,ES TO A BLANK SCREEN AND MY COMPUTER SHUTS DOWN IN 1 MIN.WHAT DO I DO?

BE ABSOLUTELY SURE to check the md5sum https://help.ubuntu.com/community/HowToMD5SUM
of downloaded iso image and burn the image at lower speed you can do with data verify active.

i cant open a terminal called downloads, i tried changing my profile, changing the name of the terminal it always comes up as desktop, and im not going to find it there because it,s in downloads. what can i do? it always says no directory exorcists.

Please don't reply via mail to Launchpad mail notification but visit directly your question Launchpad site link.
Replying via mail to launchpad message might expose your email address to the net and you will give a lot of spam.

Then answering using mail will result into a confused thread (very long with unecessary replyed info) and you can't
manage your question state.

There are not terminal called download...
So to get better help please describe what are you doing... (step by step) or describe in short what you want to do
What mean copied the iso...? to install from an iso you must not simply copy the iso...

Please tell which media do you want to made with the install iso image on it (cdrom, usb stick)...

i,ve got net book finally installed on my laptop, but i,ve have,nt a mouse pointer, heres what the install log says alps ps/2 alps ps/2 glide point mouse pad found, adding input device. then, applying alps ps/2 driver 1.1.2. then it says, no supported touch pad found, then, alps touch pad, no syntactics event found. prelimt failed for input device alps ps/2 glide point. then, unload module: syntactics. and when i try to log into the computer it says wrong password. sam told me how to reset my password and it said password successfully changed. is there way i,ve got to log in? do you know what i can do about my mouse pad it loaded the driver but then unloaded it. i really like this program on my desktop, and would really like it on my laptop. if you can, help please. thank you>
