unable to install

my ubuntu cd is giving following error on boot
cannot mount /dev/loop0(/cdrom/casper/filesystem.squashfs) on //filesystem.squashfs

therefore i had loaded wubi directly from internet for 64 bit lucid on 32 bit windows 7 ultimate on empty drive d with capacity of 50 gb and 20 gb install after efforts to write fresh cd image proved futile

in wubi version to resolve HDMI i loaded 2.6.33 and during one restart was unable to mound dev sda5

later i was surving on 2.6.32-24 which crashed on 18 sep again during a restart after i had updated softares from ppa. uninstall from add remove program too is unsuccessful

now i wish to clean install in my partition d but have not been able to burn fresh image in power2 and iso recorder v1.3

both are giving errors
with ImgBurn i was finally able to write the cd but it giving 'permission Denied' on booting and following errors in log file

I could not do MD5 check in win 7 kindly refer a URL
The size was matching and the cd writer verified the image
Burn rate was normal
I have downloaded from mirrors in japan
The i386 version and mercat beta versions are also showing similar errors
I have written five cd's - But I am ready to write more to get away from Windows

I see many people on the net googling for this error- you can also direct me to a single solved URL

Test the CD for errors too, once booted to the stickman screen, press space and select "Check CD for errors"

Instead of writing "kindly refer a URL", You could have VERY easily found an online guide and sorted that section of the resolution yourself. If you do just a little legwork sometimes, it makes things a LOT quicker

I suggest you to install Ubuntu NOT using Wubi.

If you have installed Ubuntu via Wubi please uninstall it read

Installing Ubuntu using Wubi make Ubuntu less robust and all problems that you will have to Windows can be affect your Ubuntu partition file.

Please note that install Ubuntu using Wubi isn't the best you can do, nothing wrong, but installing a secure operative system Ubuntu into an unsecure operative system using Wubi is not the better choice you can do: problems that come in Windows might be damage your Ubuntu installation.

Wubi does not install Ubuntu directly to its own partition.
Wubi install Ubuntu into a big file as an image file on the NTFS partition.

on all three cds i.e ubuntu 10.04.1 amd 64, ubuntu 10.04.1 i386.ubuntu 10.10 beta

all options except memory check lead me to the same screen

cannot mount /dev/loop0(/cdrom/casper/filesystem.squashfs) on //filesystem.squashfs

that is why i was requesting for md5 check in window7- i have spent more than 48 hours on net and it seems there are many like me

my machine is Intel core I3 530 2.93GHz with Gigabyte GA-H55M-USB3 with 500 GB seagate SATA2.0

regarding wubi - i totally agree - i have burnt my fingers twice and i am unable to uninstall cleanly

i wish to install ubuntu in the correct partition

i also read about virtual box- i have a feeling same error will pop up and i would be riddled on window with another program leaving a lot of registry entries - So no no

still need lots of help from ubuntu community

A Fresh Bittorrent download did the trick.
i was bit reluctant to install torrent-not really studied about it. wikipedia helped

i suggest ubuntu can strongly endorse torrent downloads and hashtab for integrity before burning up cd's

please try and remember most of installing ubuntu are windows operators and are duds like the windows operating system.

I personally do. Its the very first thing I ask when people are having install issues. Many windows users blindly burn unverified data, then when they check it they find its a bad image and their shouting of "This OS sucks, it won't even install" are their own fault. Please tell 2 people of MD5 testing etc and have them tell 2 people, soon the world will know :D
