Ubuntu comes with the necessary drivers for your devices. There is an exception for some devices that the company that makes them has not provided support for open-source drivers.

You can simply boot from the Ubuntu Linux installation CD, which works as a LiveCD as well. (A LiveCD is a CD that contains an operating system and runs from CD, without installing something to the hard disk) That is, you can easily verify whether your computer works. Within the LiveCD you get an option to proceed with the actual installation.

If you want to be proactive, you can identify what hardware your computer has and check to see if there is support for them. If you have a laptop, you can do a google search with <laptop model number> ubuntu
and you will probably find a page that describes Linux support on that laptop.

Short answer:
Most hardware will just work, out of the box.

Long Answer:
Often there is hardware that we can't get working quite automatically
which will take a little work user end. the most common of which being
wireless card drivers. If you do have any driver issues, they will most
likely not be showstoppers, and you can come back here for further support.
