Ubuntu-10.04-desktop-amd64 Intel corei3 and corei7 compatibility

My question is: Does Ubuntu 10.04-desktop-amd64 download from Ubuntu's home page also work with
Intel chips (Core i3), or only with AMD as the name imlies?

If the chip you have is 64bit it will work. AMD coined 64bit before intel so you will see amd64 a lot but it just means its compiled for 64bit address registers and 64bit data registers.
