Hi
I select avast and it says ...,error in avast engine invalid arguement
I search for terminal command solution in forums again and it runs ok but should I have to do this when I want to do a scan!?

The terminalcommand that worked is aS FOLLOWS

sudo sysctl -w kernel.shmmax=128000000
kernel.shmmax = 128000000

Question not answered in my previous post is there a way that I dont always have to reenter...
sudo sysctl -w kernel.shmmax=128000000
kernel.shmmax = 128000000

to get avast starting normally!?

see previous post
thanks for your patience!?

To have this settings permanent you must write them to /etc/sysctl.conf file

So please open a terminal and type:

gksudo gedit /etc/sysctl.conf

Add this row:

kernel.shmmax = 128000000

save and exit

then reboot your pc
