update clamav

Operating system Ubuntu 7.04 on MSI Laptop M670

When I give the command sudo freshclam I get this response:

What do I have to do to get the anti-virus updates?

Hello,

that means that there is a newer version[1] of clamav available. You must upgrade clamav first before you be able to install newer virus definitions. You could not install the newer version via synaptic or apt because there is only the latest ubuntu package available. You must upgrade manually[2].

Thank you. Have uninstalled the existing clam - at least I think I have done so using synaptic manager - but the next stage is complicated for me as a 'newbie', so I am looking for some step one, step two commands for the terminal window to install the latest version.

during the manually installation i got some error which need further configurations. I will figure that out and post the result as soon as possible.
