Latest version of Adobe Flash

Asked by Greg Maxwell

Hello,

I was having trouble using the Facebook application 'Farmville'. I came across a thread that said to upgrade my Adobe Flash Plug-in with the latest version. On adobe's website the latest is Flash Player 10.1 Release Candidate 4. I am running Ubuntu 10.04. Below is the link to the ungrade:

http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/flashplayer10.html#flashplayer10

Has this version of flash been tested with Ubuntu. How do I get this link added to my repository so I can install? Are there any other reported issues with FireFox and Farmville on Ubuntu v10.04?

Thanks,

Greg

Will this be version 10.1 Release Candidate 4? The version that came with Ubuntu 10.04 was 10.0.x.x (cannot remember exact revision). Since this is a release candidate and not an official release, will this be available to download thru the standard repository?

Thanks,

Greg

No, it won't. You can install flash plugins (the .so files) to ~/.mozilla/plugins and it will only work for your user account, so you can test it. You can check if it loaded using about:plugins in firefox. To install for all users, uninstall any flash packages using Synaptic and then install the .so file to /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins

Can you help with this problem?
