Log a bug stating what bug fixes the new version gives and it may be added. I could not find a PPA with it on. Maybe teamspeak has its own PPA

This is a total new version of teamspeak the list of bug fixes and new features are to long to post here but i can post some from there main site.

TeamSpeak 3 continues the legacy of the original TeamSpeak communication system previously offered in TeamSpeak Classic (1.5) and TeamSpeak 2. TeamSpeak 3 is not merely an extension of its predecessors but rather a complete rewrite in C++ of its proprietary protocol and core technology.

With over seven years of experience and leadership in the VoIP sector, our engineers have created a flexible, powerful, and scalable solution granting you the ability to customize and tailor your voice communication needs any way you desire. New users and TeamSpeak veterans alike will now enjoy a completely new experience in voice communication using TeamSpeak 3's unmatched functionality and powerful new features.

Our next generation TeamSpeak 3 software has been highly improved compared to its predecessors. For starters, both the Client and Server are now available as a flexible cross-platform solution for Windows (32bit and 64bit), Mac OS X (Intel and PPC) and Linux (32bit and 64bit). All platforms are 100% feature compatible and feature rich so regardless of which platform you use, all new features will be available across all platforms upon TeamSpeak 3's launch date.

Our engineers have re-written the code from the ground up using C++ to improve TeamSpeak's performance and compatibility. This allows TeamSpeak 3's native binaries to be built from the same codebase for various target operating systems.

TeamSpeak 3 also includes a robust cross-platform Software Development Kit (SDK) which enables full-featured voice integration within existing products or services including online games, virtual worlds, educational programs, military simulators, or any application where up to thousands of users require crystal clear, simultaneous voice communication.

And so much more ...

I just requesting that this new version is added to the repos teamspeak does not have there own ppa

Peter from Teamspeak said this on there forums about adding it to our repos:

as long as you don't modify the binary file and as long as you make sure our license is displayed during installation and must be accepted to proceed you may do this.

I haven't logged a bug, sorry. Not sure how to log a bug that doesn't produce an error.

The problem with Team Speak 3 is that when it loads and you set it up for use with a headset. When speaking through the microphone your voice doesn't come through. Here bits and pieces, nothing recognizable though.

Actually scratch that, I posted this in wrong place, meant to request it be in the repos

FYI I've been told that teamspeak3 doesn't connect to teamspeak2 servers, so it just have to be an separate package in repo and not an updated patch.

kind regards Michael

I think after more than 3 years hardly anyone still uses Team Speak 2. Is there any plan on upgrading the client and server package in near future?

What is the output of:

uname -a; lsb_release -a

Thanks

That's what I'm using now, but it has several disadvantages over having TeamSpeak in the repositories:

- does not automatically update
- comes with its own qt libraries
- installs to home directory instead of /usr or /opt

@actionparsnip:
Thanks man, but I do know which system I'm using and which file would be the right download for me.
