Greg,

Are you still experiencing this grub issue? You seem to imply you are not.

Do you have the error message?

Good luck,
George

Sorry, must have Grub on the mind right now.

Are you still experiencing this *Plymouth* issue? You seem to imply you are not.

Greg,

I'm sure, reinstalling doesn't make anyone happy.

Without the error message, very difficult to speculate what was wrong.

Hope your Lucid experience improves from this rocky start :)

Greg,

If you do happen to run into this (or other) issues again, rather then reinstalling - perhaps try joining the #ubuntu+1 channel on Freenode IRC -- some VERY smart people in there that can help diagnose many issues.

Greg,

So long as you have a LiveCD you should always be able to get online.

Just a thought,
George
